COPS in Portsmouth have dealt with an explosion at Southsea Common which is thought to have been sparked by fireworks being set off in a bin.
Hampshire Police said in a statement: "We are currently dealing with a minor explosion in Portsmouth. Southsea Common is cordoned off & there are road closures in the area."

One eyewitness said: "Somebody from the council was dealing with rubbish in the bin, and then there was a big bang.
"The guy had to take his shirt off and was rubbing his arms, I think he had been burned.
"I told police it was just a firework, and that it flew into the sky."
Officers put a 100m cordon in place as they dealt with the incident.
